DTL uses proof-of-delivery and shipment tracking
The project
- Barcode-based labeling, identification and tracing of textiles
- Existing customer since 1995.
Various hardware ports (Win CE + Android) - Cross-docking processes in the central warehouse (DC)
The solution
- Barcode MDE solution: scanner, printer, SIM card and device management
- Proof of delivery (proof of delivery)
- Real-time shipment tracking
Key Facts – The Goals Achieved
Cross docking in the Distribution Center
Target/actual comparison of all shipments
Migration to Android
Mapping warehouse processes
Route optimization
Error-free loading of delivery vehicles
Project Requirements
- Grouping of recipients: Route-optimized
- Documentation of transport damage by picture
- MDE-managed processes: Signature, customs clearance, scheduled delivery, undeliverable goods
- Ready-to-use, preconfigured hardware with SIM cards
- Administration of all devices via MDM and M2M platform
- Acoustic scan feedback
- Agile development process
Special features:
Even items that are not recognized by the system during scanning can be immediately taken into account as “special case handling” and also sent out.
This consignment is also labeled and tracked like any other.
The item can then be researched and properly labeled.
The long-standing cooperation between Deutsche Textil Logistik (DTL) and the RFID consortium has resulted in a deep understanding of textile logistics processes and objectives.
We advise DTL proactively and always with a view to their future-oriented, digitalized logistics.
Implementation of key objectives:
1. fast and error-free goods handling in the DC for fashion stores
2. reconciliation of orders with shipments
3. electronic proof of delivery (POD) to recipient
"The app is easy and intuitive for our warehouse staff to use. Even with processes that deviate from the standard, the system guides our employees through them and they can continue working without disruption. Acoustic feedback secures their scanning processes."
Philipp Schleicher, Deputy Depot Manager, BARTH+CO FASHION UND LOGISTIK GmbH & Co.KG
"We have relied on the RFID consortium for many years. We feel understood. The advice is always forward-looking, with a view to future possibilities for even better customer service. We like that."
Andreas Ruprecht, IT Manager, Deutsche Textil Logistik GmbH
Error-free logistics processes
Deutsche Textillogistik GmbH is a logistics company operating throughout Europe with a focus on the transportation of hanging textiles. The company began using digital processes very early on, such as Track & Trace and shipment tracking on the Internet in 1997. In 2005, the digital delivery scan was added. Later, electronic signatures, online scanning in the envelope and returns management. All this with increasing customer demands, such as the delivery time guarantee. For decades, RFID Konsortium has been supporting the digitalization of DTL's logistics processes at the various receiving and shipping depots in both an advisory and implementation capacity. The result: error-free, trouble-free and complaint-free delivery in a highly dynamic market.
