RF KonSys Picking Module

Your goods can be identified in the traditional way using a barcode label if you scan items manually using an MDE device. If the items are identified by radio without visual contact, they must be marked with RFID labels or RFID transponders that send a radio signal to a manual or stationary reader.
This form of identification can also be fully automated for several hundred items and without visual contact. There is a suitable transponder for every item. Both in terms of price and function.

MDE devices are available from various manufacturers for manual recording.
Wrist scanners, so-called wearables, can also be used for more ergonomic work.

The RF KonSys order picking module solves these tasks:

  • Guide employees through picking orders (via MDEs, tablets or wearables)
  • Provision of the pick lists, delivery to storage bins, posting withdrawals
  • Organize picking orders quickly, route-optimized and error-free
When picking via MDEs, pickers are guided through the process. They receive the pick lists to be processed , storage locations, the items to be picked and their quantities via their MDE and confirm the picking process. The handheld confirms the process via a visual and/or acoustic signal.
Your leading warehouse management system (WMS, WMS or ERP) issues the orders to the order pickers’ mobile devices. Once these have been processed, the goods are automatically booked out in the system. With this real-time view, your logistics control centre receives progress reports, early  information about stock shortages and generates route-optimized packing lists for your pickers. The transparency gained also allows you a great deal of flexibility in the order in which trucks are dispatched. You can see at any time where which goods have been prepared for which truck and can also bring forward orders spontaneously.

Application Examples

With guided picking using a mobile RFID picking trolley, employees are shown their digital picking list on a tablet or MDE and are guided to the individual storage locations to pick the goods. The items they place in the trolley are automatically read and checked against the order. The handling units (HU) in the form of load carriers or pallets can be “married” to their picked contents via their RFID tag and “tracked” in subsequent processes.
This method ensures the traceability of the goods in downstream processes and for end-to-end digitalization.

Your warehouse staff record goods to be picked in the traditional way using a handheld barcode scanner (MDE device) and book out goods. This paperless pick-by-scan method replaces paper lists and the warehouse operator receives direct acoustic or visual feedback on their scanning process. Depending on the process, it may make sense to combine this picking method with others, e.g. with the pick-by-RFID method.
