Nine Solution Modules for Digitalization in Intralogistics and Production

Published On: 28. February 2025By

Friedberg, 28.02.2025 – Competitive pressure, rising customer expectations and staff shortages are forcing manufacturing and retail companies to increase the level of automation in their processes. Factors such as same-day delivery, zero-error tolerance on the part of customers and high cost pressure demand fully digitized processes. RFID Konsortium has developed nine solution modules for the most important processes in intralogistics and production. These include incoming and outgoing goods, storage, order picking, inventory, quality assurance, monitoring and maintenance, replenishment control, track & trace and delivery. The goal of the RF KonSys modules is to achieve error-free, automated and faster processes. They are also designed to reduce operating costs by improving operational efficiency and at the same time relieve the burden on staff. Employees are guided through the processes with digital support, work in a route-optimized manner and gain more time for their actual tasks. Common to all modules is RFID-based labeling of goods, raw materials or load carriers, which enables clear identification without visual contact.

Great need for precise inventory management in real time

For many companies, a lack of stock overview is a key problem: “Where are which items currently located?” However, the traceability of items and 100% stock transparency is the basis for delivery capability and punctuality. This applies to both the supply chain and the intralogistics supply to the company’s own production. The nine solution modules from RFID Konsortium provide a remedy here and ensure that data is available in real time.

Standardized digitization plus individuality

RFID Konsortium starts projects in an advisory capacity and carries out a technical feasibility analysis (“proof of concept”) including consideration of the return on investment. With a phase-oriented and agile project methodology, only the RF KonSys modules that are actually needed are used. For more extensive digitization, all process modules can be combined with each other and can be easily integrated into ERP, WMS and other systems. System integration is largely standardized through the modules, consisting of software and hardware components, but at the same time allows individual adaptation to industry-specific requirements.

“Our customers come from the cruise tourism, manufacturing and service sectors. We have successfully eliminated cost-intensive errors for each of them. The experience gained from our projects has been incorporated into the development of the modules. We would now like to offer this expertise to other companies to help them automate and digitalize their processes,” says Tino Steickert, Managing Director of RFID Konsortium GmbH.

The nine RF-Konsys solution modules at a glance

Track & Trace: Tracks the path of goods and materials in real-time and ensures traceability and transparency in operations, between locations and within supply chains.

Incoming and outgoing goods: Automates the recording of incoming and outgoing goods, reduces errors and speeds up these processes.

Inventory: Enables precise inventory in real-time, minimizes storage errors and improves inventory accuracy.

Warehousing: Optimizes warehouse processes through automated identification and management of warehouse stocks.

Replenishment control: Ensures demand-oriented replenishment control to avoid production interruptions.

Picking: Guides employees efficiently through the picking process and eliminates errors through automated checks.

Delivery: Optimizes shipping processes and achieves higher customer satisfaction and reduced process costs.

Quality assurance: Continuously monitors the quality of products and processes to ensure the highest standards.

Monitoring & maintenance: Enables predictive maintenance and monitoring of machines and systems to prevent breakdowns.

As a system integrator, RFID Konsortium supplies the modules, implementation and the necessary RFID hardware from well-known manufacturers and can also provide support and hypercare on request.

About RFID Konsortium

The system integrator from Friedberg in Hesse has been developing and implementing Auto-ID solutions for medium-sized and large customers in Germany and abroad since 2008. To date, its references include over 100 companies from various industries. With the nine RF KonSys modules, RFID Konsortium offers freely combinable building blocks for optimizing intralogistics processes such as track & trace, incoming/outgoing goods, storage, inventory, picking, delivery, quality assurance, maintenance & servicing and replenishment control. The aim is to map processes error-free, at a reasonable cost and with a fast return on investment (ROI). Stationary, mobile and AI gate solutions are added to the portfolio with outgoing goods gate solutions. Customers decide to use RFID in order to digitize processes and thus operate more efficiently and competitively on the market. RFID Konsortium provides a holistic approach from a single source: from process consulting to a six-phase project implementation (“RF KonSys strategy”) and connection to internal IT systems. Depending on the customer scenario, high-quality readers, transponders, printers and mobile devices from well-known manufacturers are used for the hardware.
